We all know how expensive electricity is and in order to keep the bill at check we need to do everything that can help us so if we can get our house painted with colors that are not too dark like if we use pale shades of grey and blue or even cream white we can expect our room to brighten up so we don't need to install extra lights and will save money through this.

I suppose it depends on the room. For sitting rooms and bedrooms you might still want relaxing softer colours so that you are not feeling very awake when you are in them in the evening / night time.

There are colors that do bright up when ther Is a little light there ,and this will be good for those minimizing cost for electricity

Light colors help in increasing the light and brightness in our rooms so we should consider this too when going for paint

I have painted rooms of my house in light burgundy, peach, and light sea green colors, and they do the job quite well. I have installed soft ceiling lights , but I have yet to determine their energy expenditure compared to the tube lights used in the older times.

I won't paint my room a feminine colour to save money. I don't have issues with lighting either as my environment is well lighted up.

It is quite necessary to paint your room with colours that allows easy reflection of the sun. I have seen rooms where they need to turn on the light everytime which is not financially making sense on the electricity bill.

Some colors need more light, so in order to read and write we required to use more bulbs in room. While if we use off white, or some color which reflect more colors then we obviously can save electricity.

I have refused living in a particular apartment because it's always dark at any point in time. I felt that electricity bill would be very high staying in such apartment.

It's a fact that bright and light colors help increasing the light in the room whereas dark color do the opposite

I don't think we have this much of a problem in my country with having to light up your house in the daytime because we have all round sunshine yearly.

This is good but there are rooms in our house which are in dark if there are no lights on so if we can use light colors then we don't need so many lights during day
