Cook in Small lots Will save Money

Postby JASPREET » 04 May 2023, 06:07

Sounds weird because most say its best to cook in bulk and save energy but if we eat leftovers all the time then it's not good for us as leftover food or food that is kept in the fridge may not be good for us and in a way it's putting us in a lazy lifestyle where we just want easy things so instead of cooking in bulk, cook in small lots like for lunch and dinner only or only for lunch and eat fresh as we will get the required nutrients only if the food is fresh and when we get all the required nutrients, we will feel better and won't get sick so we will save on medicine and hospital bills by staying healthy. <3

Waste not food. Cook in small portions, finish them instead of discarding them

That's correct and if we cook in small lots then there is no reason to waste

I don't think that would save money, and it takes more time. You can always freeze leftovers, and that doesn't make you sick. There's nothing wrong with making things easier for yourself by having food prepared ahead of time if you're busy, and people have different demands on their time (some people have children to feed and care for, some have jobs with long hours or do a lot of physical work that doesn't leave them with enough energy to cook). I'll give this one a miss, thanks.

I think cooking in bulk would save you money based on ingredients and has that would be used to cook.

Yes it will be good to cook in big batches but might be a wrong idea without a freezer to keep it saved

Yes, we always cook in small quantities which are only enough and last for 1 day. Because sometimes we often get free food from events at neighbors' houses. :D

I do cook in small portions especially when I am the only one staying around, I detest wasting food a lot so I just cook what I am capable of eating at a go.

Yes it's a great money saving tip. This is because you got to save on the leftovers that you need to throw them away.

I think the poster is just about not wasting food or throwing away leftovers so you rather cook them in very small portion

From that context, it makes absolute sense. Anyone that wastes food in this time is automatically my enemy.

In some cases it would be better to cook in large quantities, especially if you have a freezer, this would help you save and stop you from spending much on going from time to time.

As freelancers, my husband and I work weird hours and often have no time to cook. So, whenever I get the chance to cook, I cook in batches and freeze the food to defrost and have during the week. Usually, I make enough for a bout three meals, and that saves us money.

I believe when you cook in bulk like this that can last for a long time. It saves money so much especially on cooking fuel like gas and ingredients for the cooking.

That's right, I agree with you. I also cook large batches for long-lasting dishes. And I cook in small batches, for dishes that spoil quickly.

I am still yet to grasp the concept of long lasting dishes. I thought you are supposed to refrigerate it.

some people do like taking their food in a fresh state with it's flavor still retained and putting foods in the refrigerator for long may cause a loss of flavor.
