Organise your food budget better

Postby Yugocean » 05 May 2023, 08:15

Lack of proper planning is the best way to waste money, and even better is to buy food without proper planning.

Buying food, cooking it on gas or electricity, storing it in the fridge, and washing serving plates (which have to be washed after every use) all involve expenditure.

Build your food budget with all these requirements in mind.

In this, keep in mind the budget for consumption (food) and the budget for non-consumption (cooking gas, soap for washing dishes, etc.).

When you plan and organize your eating ahead of time, you tend to avoid impulsive buying and eating.

When buying food to cook we should always consider the way it is going to be cooked, if we use the oven it will be more expensive as the oven is one of the kitchen tools that consume more energy. We should also make a list of the things we need after checking what we have in the pantry, and thus avoid that some foods are spoiled by not consuming them.

Food, especially is not something you can just purchase without proper planning. You need to take your time to plan it well.

When you are making a food budget for a month, try to include foodstuff that are in season because they would be cheaper.

Creativity and modesty are the two things needed to organize a good food budget for an average owner. It is not every time that you must eat meat but switch over to animal protein sources which are cheaper.
