Sewing new clothes would need you adding some clothing pieces like elastics, zippers, buttons, linings, pockets etc to your them.You can save money by getting them from old clothes you want to throw away. just cut them out to reuse instead of buying new ones.

I do the same, I always remove those pieces before throwing my old clothes away, (I often donate those old clothes to stores, like H&M, that recycle it), it is a waste to throw away zips, buttons, or clasps that are still good and may be useful later on.

You are right I do this all the time and I save money alot from buying them especially when bot necessary

This is nice and money saving too but most people don't think of this and in most cases your tailor already calculated all that's needed to make your dress and still won't change anything giving them those.

Yes no need wasting money all the time on buying new clothes. You can reuse the materials and save money from it.

People just buy a yard or two of a new fabric that the color rhymes with their old pieces, combine it and it looks good. Saves cost of buying an entire 6 yards for an adult.
