Use Public Transport For Family Trips

Postby Vehlijanta » 10 May 2023, 01:45

It won't be so convenient but if you are planning to go on a trip with family and your main aim is to save money then you can travel in public transport instead of boarding a car and if you can research a little then you can prepare a good enough travel plan through public transport and it'll fun and will save money too.

I can't jeopardize my comfort for cost by using public transport. If I get sick as a result, I would still spend to treat

Any transportation medium that is not private would never give you confort. Luxurious buses that they would pack loads and put everywhere under.

I prefer to board a car because for me saving is important but not at the cost of comfort

It is better I use a private car for my trips. I won't have to save money and die because of stress.

My car is specifically made for my family's trip and I don't think I can use public transport for that.

I prefer using my private car to this and not try to cut cost since it's almost the same and there is much comfort and even more fun to me I think than using a public transport because there are some things I would be able to say in my private car but not in a public vehicle.

It will always depend on the distance, sometimes taking all the family in our car is cheaper than going on public transportation. I remember a year ago I wanted to take a train trip with my kids but the tickets were so expensive that it was cheaper to take our car.

For a 12 hour journey and someone is thinking of using public transport, that is death in disguise.

A lot of people still travel from my destination to Lagos which is more than 12 hours and they still survive pretty fine.

Depending on where you are, public transport is not always ideal because it can be heavily delayed or cancelled, sometimes even extortionate. Having said that, it can come in handy where it's actually good and functions like a well-oiled machine. Sadly, in Botswana, you'd be best off driving because we don't have a public transport system to speak of. What we actually call public transport is actually beyond a joke... we have no trains, buses or trams.

Using public transport with the whole family whether on a travel or inter city is far more expensive than fuelling your car to move around with your family. That's one of the reasons I must have a car before I have a family.

I disagree. There are some very luxurious train carriages in some places.
