Save money on drinks at music venues

Postby Jem Smith » 12 May 2023, 06:02

If you are going to see a band the venue often charges a lot of money for drinks. It's a little dodgy, but if you want to drink, instead of paying bar prices you can save money by bringing a hip flask full of your spirit of choice. You can either furtively sip from it (like in the restroom), or buy a cheap non alcoholic drink like a lemonade from the bar then add spirits to it from your flask (you can do this under a table, or in the restroom, or just be quick). A vodka and lemonade might cost you $10 (depends on the prices where you live, but that's what it costs here), just a lemonade is more like $3.

A Vodka and Orange Juice is called a Screwdriver, so don't they have a clever name for your drink wit Lemonade? Maybe a Jackhammer?

WELL, THAT'S MY 2 CENTS WORTH.

I never have problems with drinks as I only drink water and always carry a bottle with me.

I am not into alcoholic drinks and I carry my water bottle everywhere. But some of these pricey events don't allow any food and drink from outside, not even a water bottle. They make sure that you buy everything on the venue.

If they don't allow external drinks in the venue, be careful not to be caught.

I don't know, probably. It's not my drink of choice, although I did used to drink Screwdrivers sometimes.

Some organizers don't allow you to come with your drink. You won't pass through the security checks..

A small flask is easy to hide. It wouldn't work if you went to a place with metal detectors, but that's not a thing here.

I don't know but it works almost all the time here for me. I don't have any problem going in with my drinks.

You are not going to strict bars. Even eateries in my state don't allow patrons to come in with their drinks.

I think this is the ultimate and stress free means of saving money on drinks at show venues. But people would assume that you are broke if you drink only water throughout the duration of a show. And so many people fall for that pressure and fill their table with drinks just to show off.

If you can limit the level of alcohol consumption or possibly stay off it, you would have done yourself a whole loteof good saving money while attending musical concerts.

That's very right. In any occasion, the prices of items being needed over there tend to be more expensive. Coming with your beverages from home is very cheaper.

maybe their own policy allows for that. Most eateries don't allow entries to persons holding external edibles.

If you can find a way to smuggle your alcohol into the venue, it would save you the cost if having to buy at double or triple price at the venue.
