Church vs, The Salvation Army - Prepare For Christmas Year Round

Postby Spontaneo » 19 Jun 2023, 01:31

Lately, when shopping, I grab something to give as a Chrisrmas present.

I like to help out Santa and Mrs. Santa, all of the elves and all of the reindeer.

My question is : Where do I give the presents?

When I shop, I like to think of my loved ones and if they would like these gifts.

By shopping throughout the year, come Thanksgiving I am not going to be broke. Money Tip.

I have not been to my church in years. I usually give there food wise and clothing wise and shoe wise. My neighbor who I used to ride to church with, refuses to take the gifts for me.

What about The Salvationi Army? I love to shop there! Why not give there? My loved ones could afford to go out on a shopping spree! Personally, a couple of weeks ago, I was given a voucher for The Salvation Arny store! I pray that my loved ones receive a gift voucher also.

Anyway, if I donate to The Salvation Army, I pray that my loved ones get my presents!

Do I give to my church for Christmas? Do I give to The Salvation Army for Christmas?

What do I do?

I always give to charity, no matter the time of the year, here we don't have the Salvation Army but there are other institutions that need our help. We can also find there some good things to offer, it is a way to help them and we have a nice gift to give for Christmas or as a birthday present.

You can always give to institutions that take care of children with no parents.

I don't do Xmas shopping anymore. Sometimes I donate to the Salvation Army because they are usually at the Walmart where I shop. It's convenient.

I'm not keen on the Salvation Army because they're homophobic.

Personally I prefer to give to a secular charity, but if you're religious it makes sense to give to a church. Here there is a secular charity drive in major shopping centres so sometimes I give gifts here. Otherwise I like to donate to Share the Dignity. They're an organistion that provides sanitary pads and tampons (among other things) to women who can't afford them. Every Christmas they have a campaign where you can donate a handbag full of useful supplies to a woman in need. They're Australian, and I don't know if there is an equivalent organisation in other countries.
