Unmentionables

Postby OldGuy » 20 Jul 2023, 14:54

There are some topics that are not generally discussed in public just because of the personal and potentially embarrassing subject. However, one of the things about being human is that we are each trapped in a human carcass, and as you age, certain parts stop working as designed.

One common part that tends to give out as you age is in the plumbing department. You gradually find you leak and eventually need something to catch the unending drips.

Everyone in the US has heard of Depends to the point the very name of the product leads to endless jokes. Depends can be called adult diapers if you need an explanation. They are a disposable absorbent product that you wear under everything else to catch the leaks. They usually are good for a single day but if you are lucky they might last 2 days. Problem is, once it hits you they are kinda expensive if you have to buy them every day for the rest of your life.

Men's Depends are about $30 for 40 in a pack. About $0.75 each

I have found a very satisfying substitute that is about 1 tenth the price.
If you find you need such an item, here is the money saving tip:

Dog disposable training wee pads (22" square) are about $65 for a package of 200 or about $0.33 each. Thing is, they work best if you cut them in quarters, making each 11” x 11” quarter about $0.08 each use. You just tuck them under and up the front.

A year with Depends will run you about $270 plus dollars.
A year with the alternate wee pads will cost you about $29.20.

Get over it. It happens to most of us eventually.

Adult diapers are very expensive, my grandma needed them and I know how hard was to pay for such things.
I am confused, are you suggesting to use dog disposable training wee pads instead? I am here wondering what tthat is! :!:

Yes. That is precisely what I am suggesting.

In the US, they offer a package of 22" square paper sheets, "Doggie Training Wee Pads" with an absorbent layer on one side lined with a waterproof layer on the other. People use them in training puppies who tend to go where ever they want even in the house until trained. They work very well in absorbing those frustrating leaks for more than puppies.

It is possible they might not work as well for women due to the plumbing involved but they are very efficient for men.

You would save more money by taking care of your pelvic floor muscles so that you don't become incontinent. It takes work, but it can be done.

I think this is better and more convenient than having to save on adult diapers by using wee alternative. In short, you can save money on your old age by living healthy when you are young.

People don't understand this. They do all sort of things in the name of enjoyment not mindful of how it would affect their health. Example is reckless consumption of carbonated drinks

I believe it would be a good tip for those that have this urinary incontinence. Adult pampers is not something anyone should desire to buy.

Unfortunately that is the bitter truth that people should accept considering the failure of the body plumbing system for humans. That's a very nice money saving tip for those affected by the complications.

In my country, I see people putting up excessive weight all in the name of enjoyment at a young age. They don't know that they are building up expenses for themselves in the future when their weight puts pressure on the bladder. Get to the gym, exercise, shed that weight and save yourself future expenses.

I don't even know if that sort of thing exists for sale here, since my grandma i have never looked for adult diapers again and my dogs all live outside and sleep in the garage, I never need to use "Doggie Training Wee Pads" to train them. I understand it can be a solution but I wonder if it has more chemiclas than those made for humans.

I can say from experience that there has been no issue with any chemicals. It is not much more than paper towels attached to a leakproof lining.

If this could help save money, it would be very good to use for adults that have the challenge. It would be harder because you can't find such in my country.
