So once, I needed a cream colour trouser and shirt and didn't have money to buy one. Went to my dad's wardrobe and found a pair of that. Spoke with dad to hand it overeto me. If course, he happily agreed. Tried it on and it was too big on me. I gave it to a smart tailor who shaped it to look like something for a Gen Z. And I rocked it. Do you know what? I spent just 50 cents to get that clothe fixed. And no one knew it was a hands ne down. If you still have parents, you would ge amazed at how much you would save on clothes if you take hands mr downs from your pops or momma.

My mom have always been very stylish and she has great-quality clothes that last for years without pilling or losing color. she is happy when her daughters ( me and my sister) wear her clothes.

My mom gives me clothes all the time she just recently gave me 3 brand new night shirts because she did not like how they fit her s and she knows I wear them and the kind she got at that.

Fast fashion has spiralled out of control, and because people get rid of their clothes after a few wears and sometimes throw them in the wrong places, fashion has become a threat to the environment. I personally visit a huge second hand clothes market and get most of my clothes there now.

Clothes made during that time lasted much longer than what we buy now. It is just wise to save by taking some of your parents clothes. It gives our parents joy too.

Our parents clothes last long because it was made with good quality fabrics. Nowadays a lot of clothes are made from polyester, that is why they are cheap but also they look awful after wearing them a couple of times

Clothes don't last nowadays because of the proliferation of fast fashion. I have been a beneficiary of clothes in the late 90s. My dad has a full wardrobe which I am planning to explore one by one.

It's good to use clothes given by parents, it is sort of thing for pride. One must feel happy by using this plus it save our money too.

Some people would feel taunted by friends that they are so broke to use their parents clothes. But you have to save money and don't let people broke shame.you.

I grew up with 4 brothers, 3 of them older. I do not ever recall wearing any hand me down clothes as a child, and I never wore any of my parents' garments. Going to the stores to buy new school clothes was an annual tradition just before school started each summer.

I'm actually glad we were not subjected to wearing old clothes. When we finally prepared the family home for sale in 2009, I discovered that my parents had saved up my oldest brother's childhood clothes to pass down, but never did. I found the bag of his childhood clothes in the attic. Stuff from the 1940s was all weird material and very odd styles by the time I came along. I would have been ostracized by my school classmates wearing that stuff.

On the other hand, as an adult I have always purchased what I needed when I needed it but I usually wear it out before tossing it. I still have 40 year old garments in my closet. I don't care if it looks out of date now.

Sometimes I wish I had met my dad to wear some of clothes. It takes a huge clothes burden from you when you have someone that can give you a bag of clothes to just amend and wear.

Most average parents have fabrics that they can pass down to their kids. My brother gets my mom's clothes, remodels them and wears them. Plus the clothes are better quality that would cost a premium to buy now.
