Taste and Cost

Postby Spontaneo » 06 Nov 2023, 00:26

Do you taste a difference in the different bottled waters on store shelves? Many people argue with me about this topic. I taste (and feel quite often) a difference.

Now, there are quite a few people that do not like water period. I respect that. I never liked water for many years. But now?

I learned from 2 different women to drink water. Leslie Sansone of Walk Away The Pounds says to drink pure, good, clean water. Joyce Meyer of Joyce Meyer Ministries states to take water with you wherever you go.

My favorite is Dasani. If good, chilled and crisp, one gets a total rejuvenation. Dasani can be found in just about any grocery store. My local grocery stores sell for about $6.99 to $7.99 each crate.

My second choice is Silver Falls. This brand of water tastes really good. When I was growing up, my loved ones had yucky water. I was jealous of people who had “city” water. Well, now that bottled is out, Silver Falls tastes like “city” water. My local Family Dollar sells Silver Falls for less than $5.00 each crate.

Do you look at the difference in taste or the difference in cost? I choose both.

Badly tasting water irritates me greatly. Given this choice, I would go with taste ahead of costs.

I would go for cost as long as the taste is not toxic and the water is free from germs.

For myl have found no difference in the taste of the water brands. However of all the brands in my country, Dasani is one of the most expensive brands after the sparkling and flavoured water brands. They all taste the same in my opinion.

There is a difference in the taste of the water according to the bottle and brand, I notice it perfectly. There is an expensive brand here that I can't stand its taste while some other brand(even supermarket brands) are cheaper and tastes better. It is always a matter of choice but we can have better for a lower price.

Now I do love seltzer. But I only buy seltzer when I can afford.

Last month, my local Dollar Tree started selling seltzer. A case of 4 cans for $1.25. I am not sure if your local Dollat Tree sells this seltzer.

Do you buy your water online or in-store?

When you spend every dollar, you so should be able to draw satisfaction from it. That's why I would rather go for the taste and be utterly satisfied than go for cost effectiveness and end up being angry with myself.

This is true. More expensive doesn't necessarily mean better taste. There are still bargains which are better and have good taste. I think I would explore that one

Choosing the generic brand if it tastes the same is good advice. I don't buy bottled water at all though, because it's unnecessary and bad for the environment. I drink a lot of water so it would cost me a lot if I did. Is the tap water unsafe or bad tasting where you live?

Drinking tap water as a heavy water drinker is a cost saving measure on it's own.. I spend some money on packaged water every month after paying water bills.

I mostly drink tap water. Sometimes if I'm in a bar I have sparkling mineral water and it's good. Another brand of water I particularly enjoy is Smart water, although it is on rare occasions that I drink that.

Yeah some brands are just about the name and nothing else. So we just have to try out first before concluding.

According to what i hear pure and clear water does not have a taste, so some of these water we buy that tend to taste funny are simply not pure and clean water. We have a lot of them like this over here in my country.

Every so often, I do prepare sweet iced tea with my kitchen faucet water. I do make sure not to use too much sugar.

I am not going to lie. There is no bad taste.
