In our homes, lighting costs represent around 15% of the electricity bill. In most cases, a considerable part of the costs can be avoided.
One of the first things to do is use natural light whenever possible. Whenever the characteristics of the facilities allow it, choose to take advantage of natural light from the sun. This light, in addition to not bringing economic burden, creates a healthier environment.
Which lamp to choose? There are four main types of lamps for domestic use, (halogen, incandescent, fluorescent, and LED lamps) of which the most economical are undoubtedly fluorescent and compact fluorescent. These lamps emit the same light as a conventional incandescent lamp, using 80% less energy. But in my home, I use LED lamps which are particularly economical and environmentally friendly.
Lastly, turn off the lights whenever you don't need them.
