Ditch mystery shoppers to save money

Postby augusta » 19 Nov 2023, 09:57

You can save money when you decide to go shopping personally. You really go for what you want and bargain all you can to get a fair price for your items. With mystery shopper you would have to pay for their services which will cost you extra money. So why don't you go shopping personally to also improve your shopping skills aside saving money. What do you think?

Mystery shoppers would also take their own fees and interests to make up for their time and efforts. You can just order your things online.

I can't put my shopping needs in the hands of another person. My tastes and that person's taste can never match. Won't want to spend money on things I might not find tasteful for me later.

I can't do mystery shoppers for fear of someone running away with my money. We have trust issues among everyone in my country.

The only people I know that use mystery shoppers are businesses. And it doesn't come cheap for them. Cost if hiring and training a mystery shopper is significant and not feasible. Most companies I know that used it had stopped.

I am sorry, I didn't understand your point :eh:
When you do mystery shopping you are working for a company and will be recharged of all the costs, mystery shopping pays you for your work.

Mystery shoppers are very expensive to run. Just shop online if you are incapacitated and cannot shop physically.

You spend more when you enlist the services of a mystery shopper because the person must take a service charge.

I think you mean a personal shopper, not a mystery shopper. A mystery shopper is not someone who you hire to do your shopping for you. They are hired by a business to pretend to be a regular customer then report back to the management on the service they received from the employees.

Yes. Augusta is mistaken about what a mystery shopper is. You can earn money by being a mystery shopper.

Since it is a business strategy,we can't outrightly define it to be bad and a waste of money. Personal shopper might be though.

Personal shoppers are for people who are very rich and don't have the time to go do their shopping for themselves. Can't imagine myself using one now.

They're also for people with disabilities and the elderly who can't go to the shops. A lot of people also used them during Covid lockdowns.

Personal shoppers are not prevalent in my country. I heard that in countries where they exist, they charge shoppers per hour for their services.

From the point of view of a mystery shopper, business organizations are at liberty to use a mystery shopper to. enhance their competitive edge. But a personal shopper for an individual? I don't really think I need one since I am not disabled.
