There are many banks that offer ATM/Debit card fee waiver if they use their debit or ATM card on e-commerce website for specific number of times in a row and this will help you save the fee.

Even better, look for a different bank. There are many banks that never charge any ATM fee if you use the ATM at that same bank. They also never charge any transaction fee for any purchase including any online purchases. I've used the same bank for many years without ever paying any fees at all.

However, Debit card purchases do not have the same protection as a credit card purchase. If you use a credit card, your money is protected from fraudulent sellers because you can reclaim funds from such purchases by contacting your credit card company and reversing the charge. If they later use your credit card account for added fraudulent charges you can still reclaim those funds.

You can't do any of that with a debit card. You are at the mercy of the honesty of the seller. Although most treat customers fairly, if they say stick it, you are stuck. In addition, if a dishonest seller has direct access to your account via your debit card, they can access your account and clean you out financially and there is little protection available.

I am not aware of any such bank that offers debit card fee waiver unless we go for a higher deposit plan which are not very popular

In any way, I see I spare very much more using credit cards than debit cards. Debit cards oblige us to pay the whole amount at once and the payment is immediate, while credit card bills are paid up to 30 days after. It helps me to maintain my investments when my CC is zero in order to not lose interests. And I see it works well, remembering my credit cards count on zero fees.

Nu bank offers five free online transactions in a month. It saves money to an extent but not enough for people that do high frequency of online transactions every month.

I use my credit card more than my debit card. I do this to earn more credit points.. and my credit card comes with many privileges. I am judicious with my expenditure and so don't overshoot my budget. I have benefited a lot from my credit card points in the past. Fortunately, my bank has no fees on any of my cards.

At times, using a Debit card instead of Credit one saves a good amount of money.
However, sometimes one can also avail of a few offers on the Credit Cards as well.

I agree with you that you can earn reward points when you use credit card but debit card has its own advantages
