Many times we encounter this problem where we need to place a order and to save the delivery fee we need to place a big order of a certain amount but here is a catch. You can place order by adding unwanting things and when your order ships, you can simply cancel the unwanted items or don't take its delivery and this way you will be getting free delivery on products, its a little sneaky but it works.

Are you sure it really work? Because they can still deduct the delivery fee from the refund amount

You have to pay when you order, so the delivery person won't have a way to give you a refund. All they have is the food. I suppose you could contact the restaurant to arrange a refund, but they don't have to give you one if there is nothing wrong with the food and it's what you ordered. If you made enough of a fuss they might do it for you, but then they might also ban you from ordering from them again.

You would be wasting food, since it's likely to get thrown out, and messing around the delivery person and the restaurant. Don't be that guy. If you can't afford delivery, go and pick up your food yourself.

Edit- Oh I read it wrong and thought you were talking about getting food delivered. I doubt this would work with other stuff either. Like "simply don't take delivery"- if it all ships together it might all be in the same box, so you either get all of it or none of it.

That's unethical and shouldn't be practised. Doing so would jeopardize the selling company. It is better you buy offline than try to be putting a company by the sword just because of free delivery. Terrible.

Every individual could have their own opinion, but I don't feel comfortable by doing this. I feel guilty as I am getting people attention consuming their time then for my own convenience I suddenly cancel their orders.

I am a business person and I put myself in this shoe. If someone does this to me as a business person, I would probably cry.

I would not do that.. it's unethical. I have done adding a few things to make delivery free. But I make sure that I don't add unwanted things. I would make the purchase of things that I might need in few days. We always have something like that on our list.

It's better to have the prime or plus or any other membership to avail free delivery on smaller order
