Stay Disciplined And Save Money

Postby JASPREET » 27 Feb 2024, 08:12

I know many don't like the word 'Discipline' and they feel they want the independence to do what they want but actually staying disciplined is also one of the attributes of being independent so same way if we have a disciplined approach towards life like taking 3 meals a day, waking up early in the morning and not staying up late then you will be saving a lot of money. If you are into waking up late, staying up till late, eating more than 3 meals a day then you will be spending a lot more than a disciplined person.

Staying up late certainly increases our expenses, as we need to have the lights on until later, and electricity has become so expensive in recent months that the bill can easily increase a lot with just a few hours of light.

It is fact that disciplined people save a lot of money, they usually see doctors very less. Good example of discipline is our army, we see there everything in proper and disciplined.

I stay up late every night that I am home. I work nights so it is only 3 to 4 nights a week. When I do stay awake, I only have the television on .

Waking early and going to bed early just doesn't work for me (and for a lot of people). That's not a lack of discipline, it's just what is best for my brain. Some people just function better with a later schedule.

The electricity used to keep the lights on at night really isn't a lot. Especially compared with things like air conditioning, which some people use all day. If you want to save on electricity there are other ways to do that, like making sure you turn off devices that aren't in use, not using air conditioning all the time, not running extra appliances you don't need etc. Also, if you're lucky enough to have solar power, which I do, then your electricity bill may be tiny anyway.

Discipline doesn't prevent you from catching diseases or getting into accidents.

By discipline, I also mean we should spend less on unnecessary and unwanted things, eat less outside, stick with home cooked food which is healthier and cheaper

This is one weak point I am seriously trying to overcome. Being disciplined would go a long way when it comes to saving.

That isn't what you said though. You were talking about sleep and mealtimes.
