This is one of the working tips if you can manage to find either a job nearby your house or accommodation nearby work, only if you can but if you can then you can save a lot of money and trouble of traveling long distances to reach work and I would be fine earning little less and working nearby home as it does provides us with so many perks.

I have worked near my home and also when my office was far, I am talking about different jobs and the one being near is so comforting

Living near the office can save a lot of time and money in commuting.
As well as energy.
Also, if the office is nearby, you can reach there with less problems when there is inclement weather like heavy rains or fog.

It's a nice idea, but here a lot of people work in the city and commute from further out because accommodation in the city center is much more expensive, so it's still cheaper to travel from further away.

That's why I like to have accomodations near the market, office and church. you would easily gets around this way.

But then my husband switched his job and his new workplace is quite far. We couldn't move because of other logistics. Good that he has to go to office only twice in a week and his new job provides him with a cab and driver. So, the expense of commutation is not there, but he does get tired on those two days to travel long hours in the traffic.
