Negotiate with Bank for Less or No fees

Postby JASPREET » 06 Sep 2024, 08:57

Many people may not be aware of this, but it is possible to negotiate with your bank regarding maintenance charges. In many cases, banks can consider lowering or even exempting the charges if they are satisfied with the reasons you provide.

So, don't assume that banks won't be flexible — they often are. In fact, many private banks, in particular, offer various ways to compensate you for extra charges you might have incurred during a certain period.

It's always worth discussing your situation with your bank to see if adjustments can be made.

That's a good tip, thanks JASPREET. I know from personal experience that banks are indeed open to negotiating their fees and that it makes sense not to just accept what they charge us on every statement.

I agree and some of the banks are so good that their main aim is to make their customers happy and don't mind going beyond

It's often overlooked that customers have the power to negotiate with their banks regarding maintenance charges. Many banks do appreciate proactive communication and may be willing to help, specially if you’ve been a loyal customer.

That also depends on the customer care executive taking the call because many times if they are not interested then you won't get anything in the negotiation

We should try, its not full proof and they may not agree but there is no issue in trying and they may consider reducing or waving

Only big customers in banks can have the privilege to do that. People that are not rich gets charged whatever the bank wishes.

I like to disagree with you because you should try and the bank may allow but if one is a already a defaulter then we cannot expect this
