Cylander canned fish vs Flat canned fish

Postby Netherrealmer » 22 Dec 2024, 10:38

I notice even if its the same brand and the same amount in grams and flavor... Canned fish in flat cans are more expensive than canned fish in cylander cans. What makes it different? the flavor? the taste?

I tried to buy Sardines in tomato sauce, A flat can and a cylinder can, they have the same weight. Same ingredients and same brand. But flat can is more expensive because it's more "gourmet" They taste the freaking same. So don't waste money on expensive flat can sardines, they are only more expensive because the can is easier to open.

Its the same with Tuna ,mackerel and other canned fish. Tall cans are cheaper because you will still need can opener to open them.

I've sometimes noticed that the cost per gram or KG can vary by quite a lot, for the same product from the same manufacturer. It's worth being wary of these differences to help save money when shopping. I've also often noticed that the cost per gram or KG can sometimes be greater when buying larger package sizes. Possibly because customers will often think they are getting value when purchasing larger package sizes.

Also took note of this. Not only with canned fish, but with other products.
I now know better.
