Do you watch musicals?

Postby ragdollie » 18 Apr 2025, 02:35

Recently I had a friend recommend a musical to me, called "Ride The Cyclone". She's a big fan of musicals and often tells me about musicals she enjoys, and I try to look into them for her sake. It's certainly a little out there, and a bit different to what I usually watch, but I actually ended up liking it a lot! The songs have been stuck in my head for a while now, too. The actors were really great at singing.
Now I'm in the mood to look into some other musicals, too.

Does anyone else here enjoy musicals? If so, which do you like, and why? I'm very curious! :D

Only the movie adaptations as I cant afford to go to New York and London to buy tickets. I recently watched Wicked.

Yes. I haven't been to one live for a while though. The last live musical I saw was Heathers. Some of my favourites have been Singin' in the Rain, The Pirates of Penzance, Avenue Q, Mary Poppins and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Of musicals I've only seen movie versions of, Cannibal the Musical and Anna and the Apocalypse are funny. I like some older ones too, like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

They do have them in other places too. Maybe not in your country, but perhaps somewhere a bit closer than London or New York.
