Thunderbolts, Marvel's answer to Suicide Squad

Postby Netherrealmer » 23 Sep 2024, 16:10

Marvel just released the first trailer of Thunderbolts. In the comics Thunderbolts are a bunch of supervillains pretends to be superheroes under new identity to get public trust so they can do their evil deeds, but they will end up loving doing good deeds despite of being villains.

A lot of the comic members though didn't make it to MCU because Sony have exclusive rights to Spiderman villains. The Thunderbolts I read in the comics are like Marvel's answer to Suicide Squad, a bunch of Supervillains being heroic but unlike Suicide Squad they don't have bombs on their brain or necks. Instead they have hidden evil agenda but they will end up loving being heroes after pretending for a long time. This movie though will not follow the comics.

The line up:

Yelena (The new Black Widow, Natasha's younger sister)
Taskmaster ( A supervillain known to copy moves of it's enemy, in the comics this villain is male but in MCU its female and was the villain of the Blackwidow movie)
Wintersoldier (former sidekick of Captain America who became a villain in one movie)
US Agent, (Cheap Captain America Knock off)
Red Guardian (Black Widow's dad and former Captain America villain but a Superhero in Russia)
Red Hulk ( Hulk's evil father in law who ends up having his powers, He is The US President)
Ghosts ( a villainess in an Antman movie)

Such a waste we cant have Green Goblin, and Venom because MCU dont have the rights for Spiderman characters.

The trailer looks good, seems like it would be worth a watch. If I don't get ot see it in the cinema, I will probably watch it on Disney Plus.

This guy is most funny in trailer. He could get better mask.

I think the same, it's too bad not to have green goblin and venom, but anyway, it looks interesting, when I have free time I may see it

The two can't even be in the same sentence right now. Compared to that last Joker anything else is a win. 🙄

This in some way resembles DreamWorks' The Bad Guys. The part where they end up being good out of the badness at least.

Yelena is the main character but Winter soldier is marketed more in trailer so the movie wont be review bombed by misogynists' antiwokes before release.

I am not much into seeing Marvel Movies. However, the theme looks interesting.
I might give it a try once things move accordingly.

Harrison Ford as Red Hulk, Hulk's nightmarish Father in law. Hawk's cousin becomes She-Hulk. Hulk's father in law becomes Red Hulk and His Wife Jennifer becomes Red She-hulk.

Red Hulk is the President of the United States in this timeline.

I might offend some people here but They killed him off in Starwars so he wont die in the middle of production. But then they hire him as red hulk. I know he is a CGI monster but will they have ownership of his likeness just in case he die?

Dc's Suicide Squad is fun because of Harley, So Marvel is trying to Rival her with Yelena who is Black Widow's little sister. Yelena have thick Russian accent and she have sarcastic humor and always lowkey insults people.

Yelena uses the name Black Widow now since her sister is dead.

Thunderbolts made $177,327,963 on its first week. Not bad for a line up of unknown characters, Yelena carried the movie

I haven't watched this yet, but people are calling this the best Marvel movie ever. I'm still seeing ads on my phone/sites so it's still being heavily promoted, and it seems to be well-received.

Anyone on here actually watch the movie and have opinions to share?
