Good American Family is a series (currently on Disneyplus in Australia, I'm not sure about elsewhere) about a girl named Natalia Grace whose adoptive parents had her age legally changed from 9 to 22 and then abandoned her alone in an apartment in another city to fend for herself. It's a bizarre story, somewhat similar to the plot of the horror movie Orphan.

They thought she is an adult dwarf, parents think they got scammed that they adopted an adult and not a little girl but after DNA test, she was not an adult when she was adopted, she was just a child with dwarfism. I think the parents watched the horror movie Orphan and freaks out thinking she is adult so they abandoned her.

Orphan is a horror movie about a couple who thought they adopted a genius little girl named Esther. Little did they know she is an adult serial killer with proportionate dwarfism.



The actress who played Esther, reprises the role as a 26 year old but she have to kneel and they have to use special effects to make her look like a child because she got tall.

It was the content of vlogs and all over social media etc. long before this show was made. She is an adult now and wanted her story to be told, a bit like the guy from Baby Reindeer.

It's absolutely gripping. I couldn't stop watching it. It's a bit full on at times though- content warning about child abuse.

They claimed that she was really an adult dwarf who was pretending to be a child to get them to pay her medical bills. They sent her to loads of doctors who confirmed that she was in fact a child but they had her declared legally an adult anyway so they could get rid of her.

It stars Ellen Pompeo from Grey's Anatomy as Kristine Barnett, the adoptive mother, which messed with my head as a Grey's fan.
