Thank you. I couldn't remember her name, even though I remember writing a blog post about her. I like Bollywood, but I don't watch them much anymore because I'm into Korean dramas now.

Talk about a lack of color ... K-dramas lack IMAGINATION. It's not like they don't have people of color in South Korea. The writers don't seem to know how to include them in the script. Also, they don't want to take risks. Meaning they limit how they portray interracial couples or people of color. You see them, but very sparingly. Or they'll hint at it. Like I saw one K-drama where the girl was supposedly "mixed" and how did they show it? It was subtle. She had curly hair. Stuff like that. I wanted to submit ideas, but I want to figure out how to get paid for it.

I think kdrama are pretty okay the way it is, simple and straight forward. They are playing it safe and it's working for them.

I think it's sad, really. I wonder if that's why some POC turn to skin bleaching to try to fit in and get ahead in showbiz? I love the skin I'm in and would never change it for anything... well, except to remove blemishes and acne scars, to give it a nice texture ad a bit of a glow.

It hasn't been that long since America started giving people of color roles. I grew up watching white people being cast as Native Americans, Chinese, etc. As for blacks? They usually appeared as maids, a chauffeur, or in a servant role. Or if they were in a Tarzan movie, obviously, they were the savages. When Star Trek cast a black woman as a lieutenant, that was groundbreaking.
