Papergirls

Postby Netherrealmer » 13 Aug 2022, 20:46

This Amazon Prime original is seen as the next Stranger things because it is another 1980s nostalgia scifi show but minus the horror that stranger things is known for. The Papergirls are the newspaper delivery club of a town, You know the teenagers that delivers news paper to houses. A group of 12 year olds girls that sells newspapers will accidentally be transported to 2019 and meet their adult selves.

Time travel is apparently a crime and the government is now out to arrest these poor kids who only traveled time by accident. Seeing 1980s teens react to an Alexa and internet is awesome.

I might like my kids to watch this if this doesn't has unexpected Violence, obscenity and bad dialogues. Else it is not something to be shown to the kids.

I think its a teen show and not for kids, Stranger things though are created for teens but became popular to adults and kids. Papergirls is trying to get the Stranger things market by using 80s Nostalgia.

Goonies+Stand by me+It+Nightmare at elm street+Carrie=stranger things

Back to the future+Goonies+Babysitters club+Gundam+terminator= papergirls

They seem to be great by the way. I have heard of it some times back but yet to make a follow-up on it.

LOL. I guess it would have to be nostalgia because who delivers newspapers any more?? I'm kind of surprised it's papergirls because when I was growing up it was always paperboys. :D I'll be surprised if this becomes really popular.

I didn't start it yet watch but at first, why are always kids involved? This is reason why I didn't watch Stranger Things at start. Why not just regular few friends from town who work different jobs?

80s is known for Adventure movies starring kids like Goonies, E.T, Stand by Me,Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,The Never-Ending Story and Willow. So 80s Nostalgia Tv shows wanted to get that Market because most kids of the 80s are adults with money, they wanna see their childhood.

If you think about it Stranger Things and Papergirls are not really for kids. It is for the kids from the 80s who wants to look back.

I am definatly going to watch this. Story line got me really interested. I am a movie lover oh and comedy lover too. This one seems like an interesting mistery to watch and i am curious to know how it unfolds.
