Ana De Armas who is Cuban Spanish is chosen to play Marilyn Monroe in a movie because she looks exactly like her. Here is the problem though, because she is Latina, She have a thick accent sometimes pops out that she cannot hide. Monroe is a White American born and raised woman not a Latina, People got upset that she got cast because her accent still shows up. She manage to imitate her voice but yeah she sounded like a Cuban faking an American accent. She was cast because she looks exactly like her even if she is not a natural blond.

Oh! She does have an accent! I was listening to her in an interview and started wondering if something was wrong with my ears. I'm thinking ??? ... she doesn't quite sound like Marilyn Monroe. She sort of looks like Marilyn though. I have seen other movies about MM and the person they picked didn't really look like her. Anyway! Frankly, I'm not interested in watching any more movies about Marilyn Monroe. I have more fun collecting vintage photographs and saving them on my Tumblr blog.

There are people who take speech lessons to learn to speak without an accent.
Didn't you watch the movie "Outsourced" (2006)?
I'm not trying to be fussy but I think the actress could have made an effort to eliminate her accent. Just sayin'.
