I am a big horror fan and started off by watching Hitchcock movies. My favourite was always Psycho. It terrified me but kind of got me addicted to the genre. I have watched The Birds and Dial M for Murder but there are others I really must watch.

I like them a lot. I recently watched Rope, the very first single shot style film.

I'm an avid fan of horror films but those you mentioned above are not familiar to me. I'll search them and I'm gonna try to watch them all.

For our late night TV, the station airs 2 half-hour episodes of the Alfred Hitchcock series. I don't usually watch them because I figure I've seen most of them already. But last night's episode I had not seen before.

I'm sorry I can't remember the title. But this is the story.

This young woman marries this old man. Of course, he loves her but she only married for money and prestige. Eventually, she starts “wandering”. She hooks up with this young guy and tells her husband she's leaving and he must give her a divorce.

Let this be a lesson to anybody who wants to steal somebody else's spouse. Stay far away from the spouse who is being betrayed and deserted. Because no matter how calmly and civil and reasonably they 'behave” … they're burning up on the inside. Believe me, if they get the chance THEY WILL TAKE YOU OUT!!

So the old man tricks the young man into believing that he has poisoned him, locks him a room, and tells him he's going to die all alone.

This is the scene that really struck me.

The young guy starts banging on the door to let him out! He starts whining “Please! Please! I'll go away! I'll leave your wife alone! Please! Please!! I don't want to die all alone!”

The old man says: “Oh! But it was alright for you and my wife to leave me to die all alone?”

I was laughing! I'm like: 'That's right pops! Give him a taste of his own medicine!'

In the end, the old man had not really poisoned the guy. He just scared the crap out of him!

That was a great show!!

Nah! I've already watched Frenzy. It's my least favorite Hitchcock film. I like the older classic fims with the old actors like James Stewart. https://the.hitchcock.zone/wiki/James_Stewart

Stumbled upon this topic by chance. From what little I read or heard about Alfred Hitchcock; many people used to think that he was an author.
Yet he Produced and directed movies.
I have just seen his movie : "Dial M for Murder" and its Hindi adaptation that got released in 1985 : Aitbaar.
That movie was one of its kind and I am sure its story would have been duplicated in other movies across countries as well. I am however yet to see his other movies.
One question though : "Are his movies scary in a ghost way or in the way they show suspense or Murder etc?"

His movies are not "scary" like horror movies. Hitchcock is the master of the suspense thriller! His movies keep you on the edge of your seat until The End. I liked his movies and the TV series. If you search you can watch a lot of them for free on YouTube. His movies which starred James Stewart or Cary Grant were the best!!!

Would you happen to know of any other Hindi adaptations of Hitchcock movies?

Don't get me started. I'm still upset some folks don't think the rain forests are worth saving.
