For our late night TV, the station airs 2 half-hour episodes of the Alfred Hitchcock series. I don't usually watch them because I figure I've seen most of them already. But last night's episode I had not seen before.
I'm sorry I can't remember the title. But this is the story.
This young woman marries this old man. Of course, he loves her but she only married for money and prestige. Eventually, she starts “wandering”. She hooks up with this young guy and tells her husband she's leaving and he must give her a divorce.
Let this be a lesson to anybody who wants to steal somebody else's spouse. Stay far away from the spouse who is being betrayed and deserted. Because no matter how calmly and civil and reasonably they 'behave” … they're burning up on the inside. Believe me, if they get the chance THEY WILL TAKE YOU OUT!!
So the old man tricks the young man into believing that he has poisoned him, locks him a room, and tells him he's going to die all alone.
This is the scene that really struck me.
The young guy starts banging on the door to let him out! He starts whining
“Please! Please! I'll go away! I'll leave your wife alone! Please! Please!! I don't want to die all alone!” The old man says:
“Oh! But it was alright for you and my wife to leave me to die all alone?”I was laughing!

I'm like:
'That's right pops! Give him a taste of his own medicine!'In the end, the old man had not really poisoned the guy. He just scared the crap out of him!
That was a great show!!
