Velma, This lovely nerdy character from Scooby Doo is the recent culture war character

Postby Netherrealmer » 07 Oct 2022, 18:22

Warner Bros see all the Publicity Disney is getting after they made Ariel Black and Snow White Latina. So they decided to wokekify Velma not once but twice. Velma is Ginger, So she is the character they decided to go for because its always the gingers.

First They made Velma officially Lesbian in the latest Scooby Doo movie. She is now Lesbian in the Scooby Doo canon despite of the fact she is created to be Shaggy's love interest and she had multiple boyfriends throughout the series.

But How about the fans who prefers Velma to be Straight? Well they can still have their straight Velma but there is a catch. The Straight Velma is Indian. the Trailer of the Velma series trolls fans who are against race bending of characters. HBO Max decided to make Straight Velma Indian because they want to give Indians a representation. How about make a new original Indian character.

They might as well turn Scooby doo into a cat.

Scooby Doo is only about catching ghosts and solving mysteries.
I wonder what they will do with "Casper the Friendly Ghost".

A sexy reboot of Casper in the works from the makers of Riverdale. Casper will be a teen and he will be having lots of sex. Friendly ghost with benifits.

An r-18 Scooby Doo horror movie is also in the works. In the Indian Velma series, Shaggy is now Black.... Scooby is not a dog anymore, he is now a black girl.

Do You 'Hate' the New "Velma" (the rebooted girl from Scooby-Doo)?

Postby friendociate » 21 Jan 2023, 13:28

Alpha Jay does ... probably ...

I do (probably) prefer the original Velma (from the original 'Scooby Gang' ... a 'trope' that I don't think was publicly noticed until 'the Scooby Gang' from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), but I don't know if Velma's individual character was 'explored.'

Thoughts?

I am for diversity because I am a poc but I hate race swapping for the sake of woke points. It did turn me off a bit The last of us but at least they compensate with performance and quality. This one is just toxic to watch the characters are unlikable.

I have outgrown Scooby Doo. I think a lot of people have and that's why they had to do something with the characters and recreate "interest". Maybe these change will get people watching Scooby Doo again.

There is even Scooby Doo game that is similar to the one that we show in films where you could play a game with some intelligence metrics.

Did you see the live-action one (with Matthew Lillard & Sarah Michelle Gellar & Janeane Garofalo (I think))?
