At the moment, it's not Amazon. The Boys is really their only popular original show (and maybe The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). Lord of the Rings already had a big fanbase which is why the show made the list - it likely doesn't have anything to do with Amazon. Most people who have/watch Prime video have it because they already have the Prime membership which includes same or two day delivery and other perks. I think only a small percentage of users are subscribing to Prime videos (and not the free shipping/prime membership).
I'd say right now, the ranking is Netflix>>>>>Hulu>Disney+>HBO Max>Prime>everything else. Every now and then, we'll get a super popular show from the other streaming services (Hulu - The Handmaid's Tale, NBC/Peacock - Manifest, etc.), but it doesn't really change the ranking, Netflix is still dominating and will probably continue to for a few more years. Netflix cost too much though. They could go down just for that reason.
