As a child, watching The Wizard of Oz was an annual treat. They only showed that movie once a year and I looked forward to it. It was exciting and I was watching in black and white!
Even in the black and white film Glinda, the Good Witch of the North was soooo beautiful! I loved her.
When I finally got to see this movie in color, Glinda was even more beautiful in that gorgeous pink gown.
So! I'm watching Tv and see Ariana Grande performing. I'm thinking to myself: 'She looks just like Glinda!'

Its actually not Wizard of OZ, its Wicked , Its the Biopic musical of the Wicked Witch of the West and it explains why her skin is green. It started as a fan fiction of Wizard of OZ that got published (well Oz is public domain so everyone can make a story out of it) It became a Musical that made Billions of dollars. It is Idina Menzel's biggest Broadway break before she became Elsa.
This was the iconic song from the Wicked Musical.... Glinda and Wicked Witch use to be bestfriends. Ariana will be playing a teenage Glinda.

LOL. Speaking of bckstories, I like to collect entertainment trivia. It seems the guy who picked the woman to star as the Wicked Wicth - in real life, he and the woman were very good friends. When he approached her about starring in his production, she said "Oh! I'd loved to! Which part will I play?" He said: "The Wicked Witch. Who else?"
Evidently he thought her face was perfect for that part. She was a good egg about it. Since they were friends she happily accepted the role. And I might add, she did a great job acting the part.

Cynthia Erivo got mainstream attention after she played Harriet Tubman. The wicked witch have green skin so any ethnicity can play her. Black actresses had played her in broadway before. Wicked will make people root for the wicked witch.

I'm glad to see Ariana singing again. She had been taking medication for depression ever since that tragedy occurred at the concert in Manchester. She was not physically hurt. But it took a toll on her mental health.
