Ghosts sitcom

Postby Netherrealmer » 25 Jan 2022, 08:24

There is a comedy TV show that is so Good I had watched the original and the remake in one sitting. I talk about Ghosts. It has two version, A British version from BBC which is available in HBOmax and the US version which is available on Peacock, cbs,Paramount plus and Roku.

The original British version

The American remake

Both shows is about a woman in an interracial marriage who inherited a mansion from her great aunt who died single and childless. In the UK version her husband is Black, in the US version her husband is Indian.

The house was actually a residence from ghosts who died from different eras.

The ghosts in the Uk version are a World War 2 general,A child like woman from Victorian era who got killed by her sister, The ancestor of the main female /original owner of the house, A rich man who got framed of conspiracy, A woman who got killed during the Witch trials, A 1980s scout master who got accidentally killed by boy scout,Over romantic shakespearean poet, A corrupt politician who died of heart attack while having sex with his mistress, Plague victims and a Caveman.

The Ghosts in the US version are a Native American man, A viking, a 1920's Jazz singer who got murdered, Civil war soldier,A hippie who who was so high on drugs she tried to befriend a bear which leads to her death, The Main female's ancestor, 1980s scoutmaster accidentally got killed by a Girlscout, An 80s teen girl who got murdered by a serial killer on her prom,A 90s wall street investor who died with no pants, Cholera victims, and a headless 1950s greaser.

The show have potential to have remakes from different countries where the ghosts will be representation of the country's history and culture.

The woman got a near death experience and when she woke up, she is able to see the ghosts. They try to make her and her husband leave because they don't like the idea that the mansion will be turned into a Hotel but she is able to compromise with the ghosts and make friends with them.

Both versions are funny and charming. The US version only copied three episodes from the UK and after that it headed to a different direction. So you can watch both versions and not be spoiled because they became two different shows. A British season is only 6 episodes, So despite having 3 seasons, The US Version already surpassed the original in number of episodes. They became two different distinct shows.

What I enjoy about this show is I get to see people from different time periods interact. The Ancestor of the main female is offended of how she dresses, The guy who died from the 90s is upset that the other ghosts can't understand when he talks about technology.

Those shows sound like fun. I have not seen these shows advertised but I have watched similar shows and I usually always get a good laugh.

I heard about Ghosts a while ago, but haven't had a chance to watch either version. Recently, I keep seeing it pop up everywhere which makes me wonder why it suddenly got a boost in popularity. I've seen Rose McIver in other shows and I kinda like her. She's good in comedies. Maybe I'll find some time to watch this just to see what the hype is about.

I guess you don't want network television anymore. CBS is the only TV Network I trust because they rarely cancel shows. Their 50% POC casting without being political had helped ratings of their shows making them cancel proof.

Lol, there's no reason to trust CBS more than other networks. They have cancelled good/popular shows before too. It's just they haven't had a lot of "big" shows recently so people don't make a big deal when those shows get cancelled (meaning those cancellations don't get reported as much).

All TV networks are the same. No profit = cancellation even if it ends in a cliffhanger or the plot has potential to develop. Hope Ghosts will last a little longer... I'm guessing if they keep up the momentum, it will have 4-6 seasons.

CBS still cancels but not as crazy as Fox and NBC and they haven't canceled a show that I like.

An Australian, German,French and Greek Adaptation is in the works.

The have a rule about the remakes, The Main couple must always be interracial.
