I kinda don't trust high budget Netflix shows anymore

Postby Netherrealmer » 18 Oct 2022, 08:05

High Budget Netflix shows tends to get canceled. Altered Carbon, Jupiter's Legacy and many high budget Netflix Shows have high expectations on them, So they get canceled if they are not well received.

People are raving about Sandman and I kind of want to watch it but I do not want to get attached to a show that gets canceled after a season or 2. A high budget show have to be renewed for 3rd season before I get the confidence.

Meanwhile we have a show like Emily in Paris, It is renewed to completion and people hate that show, Critics destroyed the show, subscribers petitioned to canceled that show but because its cheap, Its renewed for 3 seasons and the show runner gets complete its planned 3 season arc.

Netflix shows have higher renewal rate if they are low budget. A low budget show just needed 5 hundred thousand viewers to get renewed. A high budget show needs Billions of people watching like Stranger Things, Bridgerton and Sandman.

Sometimes people lose interest to a film that is why a product owner makes more than one serie and one revision in case a serie has under 5000 views it is not end of the world.

I've noticed that too, on certain shows. Kinda like the TV show Lucifer. Fox cancelled it towards the end of season 3, the public went to twitter and complained about the cancellation, Netflix bought the TV show to continue it, and they nearly cancelled it twice in the process of making seasons 4 and 5, before deciding to end it at season 6, tying together the story of the show with an appearance from "God" himself. And honestly, they could have extended it out a few more seasons, based on where the story was going.

Note: Do not send me FC, if I haven't agreed to do something yet. If you send me FC and I hadn't agreed to do something, consider it as a donation, as I will not pay it back to you. Donations sent without an agreement every single time, are considered as donations. It will not be refundable, if I do not agree to it in each instance.

Thanks!

People hate it but people watch it. I don't understand why people do that. If Netflix or other production have viewers they make next season. I guess people watch something so they can keep complain.

I think Netflix should buy the rights of American Gods and produce Season 4.
