I know where it is coming from. My lovely mother detested pandemic because it led to the closure of the local TV station, which led to the cancellation of all the dramas she was watching in series. I dislike leaving these things hanging when their proper ends exist.

You're on point with this. Humans are designed to easily adjust to changes in the outside world. When you see films from many genres, you'll gain some useful insight. The reason why movie critics enjoy offering constructive criticism about them is not new.
