Asian Detectives Detective K vs Detective Dee

I love detective TV shows and movies, especially British ones. But I also like historical period Asian TV shows and movies. While I was on the hunt for Korean dramas I stumbled upon “Detective K”. It combined both the historical period with crime-solving. Yes!

* Detective K is a sleuth during the Joseon Era in Korean history. The movies are fun to watch. They are comedy, historical fiction, horror, fantasy, mystery, and crime-solving. I really like Kim Myung-min, the actor who plays Detective K. There are only 3 movies in the collection though (https://www.themoviedb.org/collection/3 ... uage=en-US).

I have watched all 3 but I wouldn't mind watching them again.

* Then there is “Detective Dee”. He is similar to Detective K, only he's Chinese. The actor who plays this character is He Gang. There are 30+ movies in this collection (https://www.themoviedb.org/collection/2 ... uage=en-US).

I have watched a few. However, I kind of like Detective K better, and I wish they would make more Detective K movies. But it does not look like that's going to happen. The last Detective K movie was released in 2018. Whereas the last Detective Dee movie was released in 2022.

Clearly, Detective Dee is very popular. Even so, I like the Detective K movies better.

Do you have a preference?

Actually I have not seen any of the shows you mentioned, but I think they would have a hard time replacing Columbo on my list of favorites. I like the reason he always give me a chance to giggle in every show.
