One of my favorite HBO Max shows is Barry, It is now on its 4th Season, It is about an assassin who finds his real calling. He wanted to be an actor.



I watched 3 seasons in 1 sitting while I am running in a thread mill. I just like the plot of a cold heartened criminal discovering his true calling and real dream. He still have to kill some people though because of his contracts. Also his bosses who wants to kill him because he wants to stop assassinating because he prefers memorizing scripts. He is such a well written character you want to root for him despite of the fact he is a killer.

Thank you for your recommendation. I've had this one on my list for a while and I heard good things about it, but I'm not the biggest fan of HBO shows. They're usually a miss for me (personal preference), so I've been putting this one off. But from your brief description, it kind of reminds me of Killing Eve which I loved. Has the show ended or is it still ongoing?

Season 4 which is coming this year will be the last season. I think HBO Max will be worth it by that time since you will have Barry and the last of us along with succession and warrior.

I actually have a subscription to HBO Max already, but rarely use it for HBO shows. I've used it to watch non-HBO shows that are streaming on there. The few HBO originals that I've watched were not to my liking (even though they seem to have a good fanbase/review). I do have plans to watch The Last of Us, The White Lotus, and other HBO originals but with so many other shows around, I've been putting it off.

Would you consider Barry to be more of a crime genre or comedy?

Depends on the season, Season 1 is more comedy but it became action in the end. Season 2 goes for a darker turn but still funny. Season 3 is drama and action.

Sounds interesting , but unfortunately , HBO Max is not available in my country unfortunately . I hear some news that JioCinema will add HBO shows but not sure when .

The show is ended and its a bittersweet moment for me to let go of this show but at least it ended in a high note instead of a cliff hanger.

Good to know it has an ending. I'm watching a lot of shows right now, but this is definitely next on my list. I like to watch shows that have ended so I don't have to wait for new episodes.
