Live action He-man is finally cast and fans are not happy

Postby Netherrealmer » 30 May 2024, 17:10

They cast a skinny actor known for doing BL (gay romance movies),Musicals and teen romcoms as He-man. Nicholas Galitzine is chosen to play He-man, they probably cast this British actor because he is a real life Russian Prince. He is Russian Prince but not in the line of succession. Maybe he is only Prince Adam who is He-man's human persona and a big buff guy will be He-man or his He-man form will be CGI or maybe they will give him Fitness trainer and nutritionist.

Image

They could have cast One of the Hemsworth brothers or Patrick Schwarzenegger who is the son of The Terminator but they chose a romcom guy. I will give him benefit of a doubt since Hugh Jackman is flamboyant and feminine in real life but manage to play Wolverine so good people have no Idea he is metrosexual in person.

He is a real life Prince so they typecast him on playing Prince roles.

Well, you complain about who's filling the role of the He-Man, but taking a look at Disney and what they did with their live-action adaptation of some of the recent movies this is a up rising trend I fear.

For this live-action I think they went for the face-shape, it looks defined and good bone-structure, the actor's reputation has nothing to do with his future career, so what if he stared in BL movies, he can choose what to star in, usually not everyone knows every actress, so for the clueless minds he will fit perfectly for the role.

Stop complaining about every bit and bob that comes out of holywood, there are literally better things to complain about

Russian doesn't have princes any more. Only very distant relatives of the royal family survived the revolution, so there is no line of succession. (edit- reading his Wikipedia entry, he doesn't even seem to have Russian ancestry, just British and Greek, so maybe you have him confused with someone else?)

He looks right in the face at least. Maybe he'll buff up for the role, like Hugh Jackman did to be Wolverine.

So you're gonna skip on a whole movie just because you dislike the person they picked? What if they make him buffed by then?
Do you think they don't know he is skinny, I bed they'll come up with some way to fix this "issue", which is no issue actually!

The new guy who plays Superman managed to be buff months after his casting. Maybe Nicolas can manage to be Buff in the next few months. Zac Efron use to br a skinny teeny bopper from Musicals and he is a literal hulk now.

He's not even skinny, just not a massive body builder. I was going to add a picture here but I don't know how to do that in a comment. You can google, he has some muscles on him.

He is related to Russian Royalty but not in line of succession. The Russian Royals of Russia are now back in Russian but no power.

From what I read, his father can't actually prove any such ancestry. His grandfather just changed the family name to Galitzine (from Tier). That article says that his father is Russian, but he was not born in Russia- there's a cultural difference here- in Australia (and the UK) we would not describe someone as Russian unless they were born there, regardless whether they were of Russian descent or not. However, Americans say they are Irish or Russian or whatever, referring to their ethnicity rather than their nationality. This can lead to confusion. So, I guess you could say he's Russian, but most English speakers wouldn't.

However, being a descendant of the House of Golitsyn still wouldn't make him a prince. An aristocrat =/= royalty. A 'princely house' is not royalty, it just means that a family is rich and powerful.

There is no Russian line of succession any more, and has not been for many years. There are no Russian royalty any more either, powerful or otherwise.

Re. what happened to the Russian royal family:
TLDR: They are all dead.

What do you think of Alan Ritchinson as He - Man?

This guy is not actor for me. He only have muscles. In Reacher he had stick in his ass and in Fast X he mostly stand and talk. He made few steps.

A skinny twig? Really?

It's not like he's Timothee Chalamet or David Tennant.

For He-man standards yes, He should look like a Hemsworth Brother by the time they start filming.

I remember he almost got the role along with Kelan Lutz and Noah Centineo.

He's not as buff as He-Man (though prince Adam isn't supposed to be, the magic transforms him), but if you think he's a "skinny twig" you have a bit of a warped view of what a healthy man looks like. He's actually fitter than average.

A gay man doesn't portray the heroic nature of such a character. It is a complete mismatch and fans have enough basis not to be happy with that.

:lolno: Um, did you ever watch the old He-Man cartoon? It's very, very camp. Not to mention his appearance in the first episode of She Ra. In particular, check out his first fight side by side with Bow from about 7.35. The show could not be more homoerotic if it tried.

They already cast his love interest. Hollywood really hates gingers. Camilla Mendes will play Heman's love interest Teela.
