The OZ Franchise is one of the most popular public domain stories. So the Wicked Witch who is the Villain for poor farmgirl Dorothy who just wanna go home to Kansas, had multiple versions. Idina Menzel is not here because she is Stage Play only wicked witch. This is only for the movie versions. Even if you never watched these movies, You can judge them from the clips of their performance.

This actress is the most popular Wicked Witch as People still watches the 1939 movie until now. In the OZ Books the Wicked Witch is not Green but she became the standard. Her version is so Iconic that most Wicked Witch after her has been Green.

She is from the 1970s movie Wiz, Which is the African American version of Oz where Dorothy is Diana Ross and Michael Jackson is the Scarecrow. Evil-Lyn is full evil as she enslaves everyone on Oz that the moment she died even her minions celebrates. She enslaves people because she is allergic to water and she can only drink Human sweat.

Yes Miss Piggy became a Wicked Witch in Muppets Oz, Weird as it may sound she is the most Accurate Wicked Witch to the books because she is not Green and she only have one eye. Yes in the Book she only have 1 eye. This Wicked Witch was a former popstar. The only Wicked Witch banned in middle eastern countries because she is a pig and dresses sexy.

In the Disney Prequel of the Great in Powerful they made their own version of the Wicked Witch.This version of the wicked witch was originally kind and good but when she find out the Wizard who she fell in love with, Cheated on her with her Sister Glinda, She ate the Poisonous apple and become evil and green skin.She is Pyrokinetic and has ability to Emit flames. Yes this Wicked Witch becomes evil because she is in love with the Wizard but he cheated on her.

In this Oz Prequel.. Wicked , This version is another origin story of the Wicked Witch. In this version she was not really evil and she was bestfriends with Glinda. She will rebel against the Wizard after finding out something. She use to idolize the Wizard and wants to meet the Wizard to cure her of having green skin but she will change mind and wants to ask the Wizard to stop something else instead. She will rebel when she finds out the secret of the Wizard

In real life, this woman was not a beauty. But she was friends with the man who was investing in the "Wizard of Oz". He approached her about the production and asked if she would play a part. She said "Of course! Who am I going to be?" He replied: "The Wicked Witch. Who else?"
LOL. She already had the perfect face and the voice. All they had to do was paint her face and hands green.

That's true but my parents could not afford to buy a TV. Somebody gave us one and it was a black and white. Believe it or not, it was almost 20 years before I ever saw the Wizard of Oz in color.

I saw a lot of antiwokes complaining about the casting of Cynthia as Elphaba because she is black. The Wicked Witch is green, So her enticity will not matter as the actress will be painted.
These antiwokes will mouth foam if "The Wonderful Land of Oz" gets adapted into a movie. Its 1st Oz book without Dorothy. Its about an orphan boy named Tip who is given a Mission to find the missing Princess of Oz. What is the Twist.... When he was a baby He was kidnapped by the Witch, cursed to become a boy so his parents wont be able to find him. The Twist is Tip is the missing Princess. Glinda removes the curse and Tip becomes Princess Ozma. Princess Ozma accepted her new gender with open arms.
Tip was previously played by Shirley Temple on a tv movie. Though there are some tv movies where tip is played by a Boy and they just put him in Drag when he becomes Ozma.
