The Dublin Whiskey fire of 1875, started in a whiskey storehouse, containing over 1 million litres of whiskey. It was said, that a river of whiskey, 6 inches deep flowed from the location of the fire. Onlookers filled any container they could find, to drink from the river of whiskey.

The truly bizarre thing is, none of those fatalities were from smoke inhalation or from burn injuries. All 13, died from alcohol poisoning.

I guess fire start vaporized alcohol faster than usual. Alcohol easy vaporize on regular temperature. This is why we can smell it, especially on drunk persons. People inhale alcohole from air. Since concentration of alcohol in air was high, it caused alcohol poisining.

I think the fire spread out faster in the whiskey store because of the methanol contained in the alcohol which is highly inflammable

This goes to show how people love alcohol. Fact that the alcohol was flowing like a river means it carried a lot of dirt and hazards due to the flow. Drinking alcohol from that state was boind to kill. Not to mention the fire that contaminated the whiskey as well. It was suiscide the minute they took the first sip.

Fire spread out faster due to alcohol , one should not be greedy over free food nor drinks, nothing is free in this world. Food poisoning is common
