In this short but interesting Pc Mag article, CraigsList founder, Craig Newmark, explains why the site looks the same for the last 25 years. In essence, he wanted to keep the site simple and fast for their users. The philosophy has obviously been very successful for them.

I think it is great since these design give a wide view for many informations. I guess all new desings would hide many options into menus.
