Pop What happens when a cat decided to play with a Bee

Postby Netherrealmer » 27 Oct 2022, 01:45

It turns into a Koala. I don't know how long will it take before this cat goes back to normal but if you see a behive and you have no experience handling bees, its better to stay away. I tried to google if cats getting stung on bee happens around the world and here are the results:

Even if it looks funny, it is not funny for them. Most of those would have that protection around neck so they can't scratch it. Scracth could cause more problems.

In truth, our pets must have some sort of face protection so that even a bee could not accomplish something similar to the pictures, which were edited for amusing reasons.

If a cat plays with a bee, the bee may sting the cat in defense. Cats have a natural hunting instinct and may see the bee as prey, but bees can sting in self-defense and a cat may get stung on its nose, paws or other parts of its body. Depending on the cat's sensitivity to bee venom, it may experience pain, swelling, and redness at the site of the sting. In some cases, a cat may have an allergic reaction to the venom, which can be more serious and require immediate medical attention

They make it sound funny. But it must not be so for the pets and the pets parents.
Recently I was stung by a bee though I was not playing with it. It attacked me when I was watering the pots. It was nothing serious but I had swollen cheek for whole week

Let us pray for the pets ... (and--if you like YOUR Imaginary Friend better than the one they address the prayers to there--just substitute 'Flying Spaghetti Monster' for whatever Names they use there  ).

If a cat gets stung by a bee while playing with it, it may learn from the experience and become more cautious around bees in the future. Cats are intelligent animals and can often adapt their behavior based on past experiences.

It's best to discourage cats from playing with bees or any other potentially harmful insects to avoid the risk of injury or allergic reactions. If you notice your cat showing interest in bees or other insects, it's a good idea to redirect their attention to safer forms of play and provide them with appropriate toys and enrichment activities. Additionally, if you suspect that your cat has been stung by a bee or is showing signs of an allergic reaction, seek veterinary care promptly for proper evaluation and treatment.

The last picture (the dog stung by bees) made me laugh. I do not think cats and dogs being stung by bees is a common sight in cities, it might be little common in the rural areas , though.

The irony of all of this is that cats and dogs can be very fierce against those rodents bigger than bees that disturb is. But they get badly hurt by animals as small as bees. There is strength in multitude though because the bees sting in multitudes.
