I am one of those! I like coding mostly for fun. I am trying monetize some projects but best part is coding. This is probably reason why I didn't contine project after building it.

In coding part best is server side. PHP and database. I don't like CSS and design part so I just use royalty free HTML5 templates.

I did it several crawlers and after collecting data, insert it into database. I add custom script in Wordpress (not plugin, than emebed into core). Now I build site where users post something, admin can edit or delete. I see it could be better so in next version I will try fix my mistakes.

Well done mrki444, good for you, sounds like very interesting work.

Have you considered using Python for data crawlers? I haven't done that myself, but just think of Python when I hear about web crawlers.

Yes I did but somehow I never started. I know it is better but since I expand my projects I use PHP Simple HTML DOM Parser (know tech for me) plus new stuff.

Maybe one day I started again work in Python. Crawlers are close to Big Data which looks demanding on market. I know Python basics since I work with kids every year.
