Are The Girl Scouts (especially my Niece(s)) Going 'the Way of Amazon'?

Postby friendociate » 23 Jan 2023, 12:49

Yep, it's Girl Scout Cookies time---I SHOULD be glad, but somebody 'ruined' it for me (and not 'ruin in a good way')!

What ruins it for me?
One main thing, and one sorta-related thing
  • You can't order the cookies & pay in cash (like you can from Pizza Hut) ... although maybe the Girl Scouts changed it since I complained about it a few days ago ...
    and---related ...
  • They don't tell you 'You Can't Order to Pay Cash'---or maybe they did, and I just didn't notice :?

... maybe I got distracted by the 'vast' selection of options
    They've got
  • Adventurefuls
  • Girl Scout S'mores(R)
  • Lemon-Ups(R)
  • Trefoils(R)
  • Do-si-dos(R)
  • Tagalongs(R)
  • Samoas(R)
  • Thin Mints(R)
  • Toffee-tastic(R)
  • Rasperry Rally (TM-ed, but not (R)-ed :eh: )

What's your favorite? Mine are Thin Mints (which I'm having 'someone who CAN use credit-cards' order for me 8-) ) What's YOUR favorite Girl Scout cookie? (Will you order it there to help out my niece(s)?)

If they are available online, I would want to try some. In my country, I have never seen girl scouts did some cookies and be sold in public. I even tease my niece about it and asked her if she can suggest to do this with her classmates or even schoolmates.

I don't know if they ship internationally ... no, they're not. They'll ship it to 'anywhere in America or its "premium locations (Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or APO/FPO/DPO (military-bases))."'
In their FAQs, they wrote:Can I order cookies online and have them shipped outside of the U.S.?
Currently we are not offering the option of shipping cookies outside of the U.S. Girl Scout Cookies purchased via the Digital Cookie platform can be shipped within the United States including to Alaska Hawaii Puerto Rico the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and military or diplomatic locations with an APO/FPO/DPO address.

Girl Scout cookies are apparently a hit this year. A lot of them are sold out around me. I tried looking online, but a lot of options are sold out. I like the Thin Mints and tagalongs, but they're not available around me. I heard they had suppliers issues and that's why a lot of flavors are not available.

I had some Thin Mints this morning, and I'm thinking that Altoids (the curiously strong mints) have spoiled my palate; because the Thin Mints tasted more like Nilla Wafers (basically 'sugar cookies') this morning!
