It's not an Asian thing. I mean, even in America, they now have a bacon-flavored ice cream, sea salt-flavored ice cream, and they add a bit of salt on their smoothies. Basically, having a bit of salt on your sweets will make the sweetness less... less... what do you call this? Less likely to go stale. Because sometimes when things are too sweet, it makes you feel fed up

I mean even in soda like fizzy pop coke cola you see them pour in a tone of salt. sugar is bad enough but adding salt as well.

People in India and other Asian countries add salt to many drinks and foods. One reason is their ancient culture. They believe that salt is good for health, such as reducing body temperature. It also helps them during hot weather. But there is another health reason. The body absorbs water more quickly when you drink something salty. This helps those who do a lot of outdoor work. Some add a lot of salt because of its bitter taste. Each region has its own unique customs. Don't be confused about these different customs. All local things have their own wisdom behind them. Culture is like a garden with different flowers.
