air, here, hair, ear. I guess it depends on your tonation and accent, these four words sounds the same to me :)

That's a good point. They don't sound the same to me because I pronounce the 'h' but with a certain accent they might :)

Different accents would definitely have something to do with words sounding the same. A lot of words we say aren't the proper way too since people talk at different speeds and put emphasis on the wrong syllable. There is a place near me that is called Swartz Creek, but many people say Swartz Crick instead of drawing out the long e sound. Don't know why but that is just how some people speak.
