I drink only one coffee per day, always in the morning with my breakfast. My husband needs around 3 coffees everyday, sometimes more.

I am a tea person. My favorite drink is Hong Kong milk tea, a black tea with evaporated milk. I occasionally drink coffee. My favorite coffee is Starbuck's Latte.

While a few people truly look like zombies until they have their morning coffee, I think for many it's just an excuse to socialize.
At least in my country.
If you add sugar or milk to your coffee then I'm not sure you really like coffee (over the sweetness of sugar or milk).
People usually "meet up for a coffee" and if you visit someone at their home, they're likely to give you coffee.
I guess it's pretty much the same in other countries, but with tea.
I can live without it and I'm sure many other people can too, so it's more of a "social custom" for some.

For 10 years, I drank coffee every day, 3 mugs a day consumption, but for one year now, I stopped drinking coffee after our family friend died of diabetes. She was amputated but died after 4 days.

I may start to drink coffee again. I prefer decaf coffee and drink only in moderation to avoid getting sock of diabetes.
