Re: Last movie you watched?

Last night I joined with my four grandchildren seeing the movie, "How to Train Your Dragon 2" in the cable. I was amazed first of the 3-d computer animation of this movie. It was perfectly crafted as if the characters, the actors, actresses and the dragons are so real especially when they're moving and talking and fighting each others.

I was touched when Hiccup lost his father, Stoick the Vast after a short reunion with his separated wife, Valka. Now Hiccup took the responsibility to be the chieftain of the village and successfully defended the dragons with the help of his best fighter dragon, Toothless. Try to see it for yourself too. I know you will not only enjoy but be moved the strong family ties of Stoick, Valka and Hiccup.

I love finding movies based on a true story. This one is and it is such a good movie.

I also am a huge fan of things set way back. Victorian era and before so this film held up and is 5 stars. Even more since since its based on a true story.

The movie I have just watched is Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. It is the 4th of 6th series of a spy-action thriller movie. It was released in 2011. The characters like Ghost Protocol Ethan Hunt and the entire IMF are blamed for the bombing of the Kremlin. He and three others must stop a man bent on starting a global nuclear war.

The last movie I saw (last night) was a Disney film The Finest Hours and both my wife and I thought it was very good. It was the portrayal of an actual true story in 1952 of the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard History. The edge of the seat action and touching love story kept my interest until the last credit scrolled off the screen.

The last movie I watched, I didn't finish. It was late at night and looked like it was actually a mockumentary instead of a feature film, so it didn't hold my interest very long. I'm not a huge fan of the "found footage", shaky-cam genre, but the reviews of the movie were good. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime, since it's supposed to be based off of an HP Lovecraft story.

In any case, the movie is called "Banshee Chapter". Here's the trailer for it.

After it swept the Academy Awards, I decided to watch Mad Max Fury Road and it was not my idea of a winner, but it certainly was intense and the massive work that went into it's creation was nothing short of amazing. Fortunately I had my laptop open and got some online work done at the same time.

Did you see the previous Mad Max movies? Would you have needed to see the old ones to enjoy the new ones?
