Are you a crisps/chips lover?

Postby spiderdust » 11 Jun 2017, 22:26

I have to confess, I love them. I know they're not at all good for me, but I do enjoy potato chips/crisps, especially ones with interesting flavors. When I visit different parts of my country, I look for varieties that I can't get in my neck of the woods. For example, on the East Coast, I can find "crab flavored" chips, which are usually seasoned with the same spice mixture that's used in crab boil (Old Bay is a common one). I used to be able to find a steak & onion flavor, but couldn't find them last summer when I visited Pennsylvania.

Someone called me from a specialty store a few minutes ago and offered to bring me a package of Guinness toasted cheddar crisps. I hope they're good!

How about you? Are you a crisps fan? What kind do you like?

yes, my kids and I are big fan of Mr Potato Chips. We usually wait for monthly offers, before we could buy 4 cans of them and finish them in 1 week! I prefer tomato flavor, my kids prefer sour cream and BBQ flavour

I didn't think you called them crisps in the states, I thought you always called them chips. Chips in the UK are what you call fries I think. I get really confused with these questions

Anyway, the answer to your question is I love both crisps and chips. Neither are that good for me but I don't care as I enjoy them anyway although I don't eat them every day. I normally buy Walkers Crisps although I love Pringles too.

Yea, what they calls chips in the US is crisps to me too LOL Yes I love them all; chips, crips and French fries.

My fave crisps are Lays ones. I enjoy many flavours including cheese and onion, vinegar and chutney.

We do call them chips in the US, but I know that many people on here aren't from the United States. I figured if I just called them chips, it might get confusing. :P To make it even more confusing, I think what you call chips might be what we sometimes refer to as "steak fries", since they're the thicker sort instead of the thin, almost-shoestring style.

What kind of Walker's crisps do you like best? I can sometimes buy them over here.

Absolutely my favorite can't go a day without having a bite here and there I try to make them myself other than buying them in the supermarkets or hotels.

By the way... this will mostly be of interest to Canadians, but Americans, take note! I found All Dressed flavor chips in the grocery store yesterday! They've finally co.e to the US!

For those who aren't familiar, All Dressed Chips are like "everything" flavor chips/crisps... they're BBQ, salt & vinegar, sour cream & onion, and ketchup flavored, all on one chip!

I love tortilla chips with salsa!

Yes, tortilla chips have many calories.

As for what kind? I like scoops, restaurant-style, etc. for tortilla chips.

For salsa? I like any!

Nice as a side dish or for guests.

Need a mini-meal? That also!

How do you feel?

I like to prepare Acapulco Tuna Salad with corn chips.

The recipe is from the cookbook Party Fare by JoAnna A. Lund.

Mix tuna, mayonnaise, salsa and crushed corn chips on a bed of lettuce.

Delicious!

I have recently been training myself to consume apples instead of potato chips. Doing this is difficult as I love potato chips with sandwiches.
