Expletives Deleted

Postby OldGuy » 22 Aug 2018, 18:47

Foul language and swear words are commonly used, particularly in the heat of an argument. Some news reporters say the words "expletives deleted" when discussing content that includes such language.

I have come to understand that common gutter language is an indicator of education; the uneducated use foul language but the eloquent have developed a higher level of language that can be published or spoken in front of the public, your spouse, your kids, your parents, your religious leaders or other highly respected acquaintances.

For example, God's last name does not start with the letter D. Try using "God Bless You" instead.

Can you provide acceptable and printable substitutions for commonly used foul language that we all can learn?

I am one for having a mouth of the not so appreciated and I know growing up in brooklyn ny is not an excuse but it did not help either. I have calmed down in the last few years but now I hear others using the foul language and mostly in front of children which I do not agree with :(

I can turn the air blue too although I try not to do it around my granddaughter. Funnily enough she hates swearing although I doubt that will last once she becomes a teenager.

Many people say it is lack of vocabulary but my partner swears a lot and he has the most amazing vocabulary and was educated at a private school so I don't know what his excuse is.
