OldGuy wrote:Well, I have been adventurous in trying many non traditional foods over the years. I enjoyed frogs legs, crocodile, snake, snails, octopus, jellyfish and other various sea critters, and of course RK stew (Road kill-unknown) among the more adventurous items. I've eaten meals at a wide variety of country specific restaurant venues and don't even remember the whole list. I had a terrible allergic reaction to the croc and the jellyfish was like chewing on cellophane plastic, but everything else was fine.

The next day he brought the leftovers into work and ate them for lunch. I just sat there at the table in the lunch room and stared at him. I couldn't believe he was actually eating frog legs. I still don't have the courage to try them.![]()
Another friend suggested I try racoon meat. He said you could buy it in a can at certain stores. I'm thinking to myself; WHY??

Oh yes! I consider lobster exotic. I would like it with lemon and butter sauce. I had it once but that was years ago. Lobster isn't exactly cheap!

In our country, crab meat is mainstream. Different cultures, different tastes!

My late husband grew up in The Bahamas. Lobster and crab were common meals. His uncles were fishermen. But where I live in land-locked Texas, it's expensive!
@Spontaneo - I didn't mean to say that lobster and crab were the same, other than the fact they are both shell fish. It's just that your mention of "buttered crab" reminded of lobster with lemon butter sauce. Oh no! I'm drooling again!![]()
