ToTW Are paid to post forums dead?

Postby MysticMoons » 05 Oct 2025, 22:21

I notice this and other forums now are ghost towns. Maybe because social media is bigger now?
also videos and reels on social media are not getting so big...
i think its hard for forums to compete... maybe paid to post could come back..
if they raised the pay. now sure. But i stlll enjoy forums.
even though they are ghost towns now

Because most of them, their members are senior citizens. They're probably dead. Most Gen Z, millennials and Gen Alpha thinks earning online via forum is lame. They prefer things like, you know, streaming, or being an influencer, or doing TikToks. Also, they kinda like being a troll with lots of engagement in Twitter instead. Because if you say something that will anger people on Twitter, there is a possibility you can get millions of replies. And that millions of replies can be counted as engagement.

If yet raised the pay would be great. But where do they earn such money to cater for the increased payment? Online earnings for websites have continued to tank and many owners are using their pocket money to cater for the forum bills which is not good. May be soon many would be history.

It’s true that the trends in online earning have changed a lot. Many young people today prefer quick and visible ways like TikTok, YouTube or being an influencer. Paid forums seem like a thing of the past to them.

But that doesn’t mean they’re completely dead. There are still people who like in-depth discussions, especially on specific topics like technology, writing or marketing. Each platform has its own audience.

There is marked difference in pay per post, not only here but it is almost in all paid to post sites. Then how can we earn some reasonable money. Which definitely we were earning before.

The main reason why paid forums have died because the main reason the owner not paying on the time they promised plus people want to be seen and loved because really truly they never got it home and if they did the parents bought them up very wrong because some kids at so such a young age on youtube that when they grow up they want to be like what they see its brainwashing.

Another thing why forums die, whether they're paying members or they're non-paying, is the SEO of search engines prioritizes social media posts over forums. Seriously, it's hard to find our threads in Google search. Like I tried to experiment and, you know, search the title of threads in our forum and they're still not searchable in search engines because search engines want to prioritize their partnership with social media sites. So we can say that social media is also killing forums. Search engines have a recency bias. So information that is like five years ago is hard to search anymore.

When Site owners drastically cut payment and show signs of being partial users will leave those Sites and when that happens the Site has no future.

Few years before I was earning good money from here, but now most of them set new rules as some tell us to write only ten post to get credit, and some increased payout limit. I am not able to work in paid to post sites regularly.

A few of them are still on and pushing with the genuine members making it daily. We love money and when a forum stops paying as expected, the end result is going down the drain. Payout should be doubled   on most forums if they want to have members return.

But I don't think the payment will increase as long as the quality of posts are garbage. Especially when some people here start using AI shamelessly. If you want the payment to increase, try to provide traffic here by having posts that will attract the advertisers.

I completely agree; the shift towards social media has definitely changed the landscape. However, there’s something unique about forums that I still appreciate, and perhaps a resurgence could be driven by innovative strategies like paid posts.

Forums without a doubt had been on a decline since social media came to the playground.

With AI in play, forums will get even worst. Really bad time for independent forums. They will become pretty soon bot societies, trying to imitate activity but that's a failed try before it begins, the nature and imperfections of humans as animals in a society are unmatched/not replicable.

Now everyone is crazy trying to use AI, soon many will be craving for places where AI is not in use.

Social media had been taking users off forums due to their multiple incentive models, that's what it is, plain and simple.

The power of the money from advertisers towards big companies like FB, YouTube as examples, had made those companies able to offer users irresistible incentives to keep users active and hooked into their systems.

I personally tried to create a FB group for a business I was building. It was a total fail. Lack of admin tools, lack of flexibility and control to manage my group, lack of ways to monetize my group, lack of design, lack of tools to control scam and spam. It was just a disaster.

The only way I can think off someone operating a FB group, (1) It's because they don't know what's like to have the freedom a forum. (2) Because the lack of resources to offer enough incentives to users to take them out of the social sites.

MicroLikes is taking these elements and combining them, promising to create the new kind of AdSense, but this time for forum users while letting independent forums stay independent and not making just another type of FB Groups where FB governs and control those groups 100%

MicroLikes is heading to create a combination of multiple companies in a single ecosystem
where the main focal point is to benefit and bring back independent forums.

MicroLikes does not want to control your forum, MicroLikes wants you to stay as an independent forum, and create the resources and income stream that as independent forum you will never achieve.

MicroLikes aims to protect forums from spam, scam and specially from the use of AI before it's too late. And create incentives to retain users and keep those communities alive.

Yes, MicroLikes is posturing to solve the long-due decline of forums. It's more than a simple project, It's a movement started by a poor single crazy guy with a big dream (which lost his marriage already for going after this)

Now, if you truly love forums as I do. It's your time to put your grain of sand and be supportive in any way you can.
In the union is the power!

Go ahead and join MicroLikes... that's the very first step (it's free to join as a user).
With much love to you all..

I hope the AI users will have decency to at least try to make their AI replies sound human. Because no one is going to believe them that they speak English like professors.

Yeah, forums aren’t as busy as they used to be. Social media have taken most people’s attention, so fewer visit forums now.
