On steemit and HIVE, you can upvote others and earn voting power. Then once your voting power goes high enough. Just write article and upvote your own self. That would be good enough for value too. Steemit in fact earns you TRON for even voting power.

Thanks for your explanation. That clarifies a lot. I have never visited HIVE. I will have to look into it.

HIVE and steemit are based on same software so learning them wont be hard. What is necessary is being part of communities which you can find out in left sidebar. Interact and be friend with people over there. And you will slowly get into the groups of whales. votes come from there onwards.

I am a bit confused! I was asked by Marianne to join Hive but I have landed on Peakd. Is it the same site or different? I have posted 2 and got a good response there but, not sure!

HIVE is ecosystem which has multiple domains - peakd, ecency, hive.blog, leofinance, etc. You earn hive by joining any one of them. Your username and passwd works on all of those domain names.

Hmm, with what I saw about this two sites, I will tell you that hubpages is the best for me. I like the features, and the fact you're not using money to upgrade to be a plus member like the way vocal media does.

I too would go with the site that doesn't require money to upgrade. I've upgraded in the past but didn't feel that it was worth the money spent

if you are not very active in a site, I think upgrading options is not worth for any sites

True and the vocal media upgrade is not even needed considering you write a lot and get paid for minimum views as it is. so it s not worth it in long run.

Even though I heard of hubpages a long time ago, I have never considered joining the site. I heard of vocal recently. I don't know about hubpages pay rate but a writer claimed that vocal pays $3.80 per 1000 views. If this is true I might join vocal.

If you are into writing long articles and want to monetize them? then join the hubpages. Vocal is not that consistent with earning that I can tell you. People who support vocal don't post their earnings screenshot.

I have an account in both sites, I notice that my articles worth more in Vocal but they don't pay through PayPal. Hubpages is a more reliable site and pay through PayPal but for me it is hard to earn there.

Well I earn daily on vocal media. So I will have to go with vocal. I still have not tried hubpages. But I think I would earn well as long as they do not have a word limit per posts. Like if I could write short posts and put youtube embeds. I am sure I could earn a lot of money fast.

I read your post where you say vocal pays $3.8 per 1000 views? Is this pay rate depended on the location of traffic, traffic retention, traffic source, etc.

I have a website, however, I did not write content for my site because I am not good at writing. If you are earning by writing on vocal, and want to try hubpages, why don't you create your own blog. I think blogging is more profitable.

I will go with hubpages maybe because I'm on it and I understand it better. The best bet of making good on this site is to post good content and then try to drive traffic to your post. The more views the more money

So, hubpages pays for views? Generally speaking, how much they pay for 1000 views. After reading a lot of posts about various writing sites I am kind of fascinated to join a site good paying writing site. I might check hubpages.
