I also hold your view. I am not interested in upgrading on any site.

Yeah. Because many of these sites don't last. I'm actually surprised that Medium.com is still standing. But the users are very loyal. Also, Medium just opened up to other countries that previously did not have access. The community is growing.

As I recall, years ago, Medium had a bootcamp that you had to pass that I never passed. Am I right?

Whether they last or not, I don't want to upgrade for the peanuts they pay for our contribution to the site.

You might try sites like Upwork, where they are looking for freelance content writers.

I had thought that HubPages seemed promising, but I thought wrong. I keep being told "needs more improvement" and now a warning.

Then, WN has become quite difficult. Many declines. i have worked for WN for years and have never experienced such feedback from the editors.

I have not worked on vocal.media in a while.

HUBPages was promising. But once this last company took over, they suck. I still earn passive income, but it's a trickle. I used get paid frequently. I'm not active on HP any more.

As for Vocal.Media? SHOCK AND AWE.

I did not know they had made changes. I went back to publish some content and to my surprise one of my articles was picked as a “Top Story” and they paid me $5 for it.

The other day they paid me $5 for another article they picked as a “Top Story”.

Now? If I could figure out what I'm doing so I can publish some more top stories. LOL.

I recently logged into my Hubpages account and I was like things have changed a lot. No pennies on the payment page and no traffic. Soon Hubpages may be no where online.

Uuumm ... HUBPages is still online. Sometimes HP articles show up in generic search results. But yes. They have changed a lot.

What are the things they have changed as per your observation, can you please share? Are those changes to the advantage of content providers or for the site?

HUBPages no longer has a revenue share plan.
Vocal.Media now pays $5 IF your story gets picked as a TOP Story.

I think they also get bored after running a site for several years and paying peanuts!

Yes, and this is the problem with almost all sites and forums.

People want big money but big money is not possible except with some donation program or subscription. If they want donation better make videos. Youtubers and streams live from donations, not writers.
